Have you been dreaming of hitting the road?

Let us create it.

  • Our vans take 3-4 months depending on complexity.

  • The big gulp, a turn key build will cost between $80-120k depending on layout, complexity, and components. We want this van to be yours through and through, we welcome design input, requests that we’ve never heard of, and specific components. We build a van for musicians that included sound paneling, a full sound system, and TV to record- so we’re here for the unique.

  • 100%

From initial concept to final product this van is yours to create and to collaborate with. You have a layout we’ve never seen, great. We’re here to give our input, include the best components on the market, and bring it to life.

  • No, we do not source or acquire the van for you. This is an area where people tend to save (used, high mileage etc.) so we let everyone find a van that their comfortable with.

The van does need to be delivered to our shop in Leavenworth, WA and we’ll take it from there. When you pick it up it’ll be road ready.

  • We pride ourselves on being collaborative. From the first call we will ask you things about the lifestyle you envision, what you’re hoping to do with the van, and if you have any inspo. From there we start to create a budget and outline for you to review. We go back and forth until everything is detailed (to where the outlets go) and then you sign off and we get to work!

  • Sometimes we’ll have vans that we’ve purchased and built out for sale. They are usually listed for sale right on the homepage or under ‘Currently for Sale.’ If you’re curious what we have coming down the pipeline please reach out we usually always have 1-2 vans we’re working on to put up for sale.

  • Need a window or AC installed? Help with electrical? We try to help locals in the Leavenworth area whenever we have a break in our schedule. We do offer smaller projects at an hourly rate. Please email us to see what our schedule is looking like.

Our Process:

We love the design process and in a world of copy and paste design and Ikea layouts we love to create something unique and beautiful. There are a lot of ways to layout a small rolling home and each has their own pros and cons.

Garage style builds provide epic storage but reduce livable space. A bench seat design where you convert benches into your bed creates a fully functional ‘living room’ with a separate kitchen but you will have to make a bed every evening and put it away every morning. We want to create the van you want, with the details that you feel are the most important to the lifestyle you hope to lead on the road.

We begin by listening to your lifestyle goal and needs, in our initial chats we will pick your brain in terms of layout, interior design, schematics, non-negotiables, etc. Don’t worry if you’re not super set on any ‘one’ design we’re here to present the pros and cons and what we think would work best. We ask a lot of questions, some of which might seem silly. Are you an early riser? Will someone be staying in bed while you make coffee? What kind of gear are you hoping to bring?

All of these questions add up to layouts and designs that just feel right, the sense of everything is where it’s supposed to be.  After years of living in vans we have a deep belief of things that just work, and we want to share that with each person we build for.

In terms of the shell of the van, we do require that you purchase the shell and transport it to our home in Leavenworth, Washington. We can assist in helping you look for your vehicle but for fully custom builds the foundation is up to you. We do this so you can get the exact van that you want, no compromises, no frustration, and no surprises.

Design Proposal:

If you’re excited about our chats and want to see some of your dreams come to life we will create a fully customized design proposal. The design proposal will include everything we’ve chatted about and the nitty gritty of the build- a full rendering of your design, with real world measurements, layout, materials, electrical, and storage. A full budget breakdown and cost. This will include a base cost- everything that is included on the list we guarantee will be in the van. There will also be a separate column for upgrades- do you want the heftiest batteries on the market? No problem, but the difference in cost will be an upgrade that will be factored into the final cost. The proposal will also include timelines, payment schedule, and all the fun fine print. The proposal is an all encompassing packet that will be the foundation of your build. Due to the time intensive nature to create these proposals we will require a $500 fee to create these, if you choose to move forward with us as your builders we waive this fee.

Final Design Process:

After you receive your design proposal this is when we go back and forth on specifics. Outlets on the floor verses the counter, materials (pine, cedar, fabric, paint?!), and we truly iron out what the design will be. You’ll leave this processes with a final rendering of your design, with all the details ironed out. The blueprint document is generally between 25-40 pages long.

Fee Structure:

We know van builds are expensive and it’s hard to understand where the costs add up.  In our proposals we layout the cost of all of your components- wiring, wood, electrical, insulation, windows, cabinet materials, glues, trim, etc.  It’s a detailed list that accounts for everything that will be put in your van.

Each van is custom however, and costs can vary significantly based on complexity, components desired, and size of the vehicle.

Our builds range from $80-$120k.

When the blueprint design is approved we require a 10% deposit to hold your place in the design line.

30% is required upon the delivery of the vehicle.

10% is due on the 1st of the month for each month of your build (generally 3 months)

The remaining balance is due upon pickup.

We try and space out the pricing to make the payments easier to manage and too budget for.  We unfortunately do not offer financing.

It all starts with an idea. Getting on the road isn’t easy, in fact it’s much more complicated than staying home, but it’ll be one of the best decisions of your life.

Living with less. Waking up to an ever changing horizon. Making your own schedule. Taking a break from the constant planning of our lives.

We would love to see you out there and we would be honored to create your home on the road.
